Element Blue, an IBM Premier Partner and leading solutions provider for the IBM Intelligent Operations Center (IOC), has been awarded the prestigious IBM Beacon Award for its Outstanding Smarter Cities Solution. The awards recognize IBM Business Partners who have delivered exceptional solutions proven to drive business value and transform the way their clients, their industries and the world do business in the following industries: energy, public safety, transportation, water, building, social services and agencies.

“We are honored to have received the Beacon Award for Smarter Cities,” said Steven Gerhardt. “Our Intelligent Operations for Water (IOW) award entry focused on water optimization for golf and commercial properties. Desert Mountain is an example of becoming a smarter community in Arizona, where we have begun to greatly improve aspects of water and resource management. And, similar clients with commercial and campus operations can gain efficiencies at a savings of 10% in power and water with IBM’s integrated software platform.”

Gerhardt accepted the award Tuesday night during the IBM PartnerWorld Leadership Conference at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.

“The Beacon Awards are a central and vital element of IBM’s Business Partner recognition program,” said Mark Hennessy, General Manager, IBM Global Business Partners & Midmarket. “Recipients of these awards exemplify the ability to deliver business value to clients through innovative solutions, technical excellence and industry expertise.”

The 2013 award is Element Blue’s second Beacon.
